Modulars offset

need some 16inch modulars for off roading only and need to know is +8 the most off set ya can get i need as much clearance as i can get steering lock wise , am fitting 265/75/r16 insa turbo special track , and do i need 16X8 or 16X7, sorry for the stupid question am new to all this off roading stuff

any help is much appreciated

Fit some hub-centric spacers if it's too much of a problem?

I used to have 7j Alloys on mine, then swapped them for 8j modulars. The offset difference is more than just the rim width I think ... Do a search for 7j and 8j profiles, I believe there's a standard spec for them.

7j Alloys with 31 x 10.5 R15 BFG AT's on ..



8j Steel modulars with the same set of tyres on them, day after they were swapped ... with HD springs as well though.

I've got those tyres on normal 7" modulars on me 90.
Steering lock aint a problem.
