Mods for a trip to scandinavia in March/April

Hi all, me and the Mrs are taking our honey moon in my 90 once i finish rebuilding it, we plan on traveling round scandinavia in March/April, northen lights, "Hell" in sweedon and holland to smoke some of that good stuff! anyone recomend a type of tyre and mod that we might need? be staying in hotels/hostels most nights i recon. cant really warrant spending all that money on a roof tent, im sure it would cover the costs of B and Bs for a couple of weeks, ive got a steering guard and diff guards, i wont be doing hardcore off roading but im sure there will be plenty of the white stuff to play with!

You can pick up a roof tent for circa £400. If you can get b and b's for that price for a few weeks then you're bloody lucky.
As for tyres I quite like black round ones

Scandinavia is crazy crazy expensive, particularly Norway. For guidance a burger and chips will set you back about £20 and a beer about £10 -- and that's in Oslo which is cheaper than most of the rest of the country because it gets more expensive as it gets more remote. Accommodation is also on the 'rather expensive' side.

If I was going back there (and I'd like to do the same sort of thing you're talking about) then I'd definitely be looking at how I could carry as much of my own food and accommodation as possible.

LRO have run a couple of articles recently on prepping for trip to Norway and Sweden, they were not to bad. I did seven winters in Norway while serving n the Royal Marines. Make sure your heater is damn good and your heated windscreen works well, then make sure you insulate your truck. Around march the majority of the snow should be gone or going in the southern latitudes of Scandinavia, but at altitude it can return really quickly when you least expect it. Standby to spend some money out there, I remember spending seven quid on a single coffee in Tromso I plan to take my 90 out there in the next few years and show my wife the northern lights. You are gonna love it.

Is the climate in summer, in scandanavia much different to ours?

ok looks like i didnt do much research on the pricing! will i not freeze my nuts off sleeping in a roof tent when there is some snow on the ground? ill take a stove and cooking equipment, dont mind cook some food and sounds like i wont need a fridge if i just strap a box to the roof rack! will an all terrain tyre be ok for snow? or shall i get some muds to be on safe side? 265/75s or 235/85s?

You should also look when it is a requirement to have studs on your tyres - in Sweden you have to have winter tyres (either snow tyres or studded tyres) if there's "wintry" conditions between 1st December and 31st March, Wintry conditions being defined as ice, snow or slush on the roads. I'm not sure what happens if its wintry after then....
