Hi LandyMan,

Just looked on fleabay, I was looking last week at a 12 tonne press, same manufacturer, Do you think the 20 Tonne is required? or is it just in case ?

Also been looking at the kennnedy tools 503 130 ball joint splitter.

Know what you mean about the diff plugs, I will get some on order. Had the same issue on my defender coolant bleeding plug, but the plastic plug actually broke off.

Cheers

Hey

I asked the same question on here a few days ago, here's the thread

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/is-there-a-section-for-tools.296175/

from this I went with the 20 ton

I will only get a ball joint splitter if / when I need 1.

I don't understand why these plugs are made from crappy plastic! lol

LandyMan,

Perfect, I guess 20 tonnes it is.

Question is now, Do I buy it this week? or wait until I need it? LOL.

Ooooohh, I do love to buy new tools.

Cheers

in my opinion, there's no time like the present ... if you order it when you need it, you'll have to wait several days before you can use it

Everything is now on hold as I have just started the process of buying a new house :)

Hopefully it'll all go nice and smooth, and once settled in I can begin stripping the D2 down so I can replace the chassis and turn it into a mini monster truck :)

so much for not doing much for a while, I ended up replacing the rocker cover gasket and grommets, giving in the ECU plug a good clean, and giving the air filter a good clean too. I was also going to replace the injector loom but it didn't turn up on friday like it was suppose to, apparently it will turn up today, so I will replace that this weekend coming.

I didn't take any pictures, purely because I forgot, but will probably take some when I replace the injector harness.

Well, so much for not doing any work on my Disco until I've moved.

on Sunday I replaced the Injector harness and gave the ECU connectors a good clean :)

Then, I checked my brake pads and saw that they were getting low so thought I would replace them.

Took 10 mins to do the front passenger side.

Then onto the drivers side, what a friggin nightmare!!

First of all I broke my locking wheel nut tool and the locking nut trying to get the locking nut off, managed to get it off by hammering a socket over the nut ... which is now completely destroyed ... thanks to the users on here that came to my rescue :)

then, took the caliper off and found 1 of the guide pins had seized in the caliper carrier, spent 2 hours trying to get the damn thing out, gave up in the end and put it all back together.

Now the brake pedal now goes straight to the floor, like there is air in the system and needs bleeding! never had to bleed the system before after changing pads, anyway, it's probably a good time to change the brake fluid, hopefully I haven't popped a piston seal or cylinder seal.

Just ordered a new caliper carrier, guide pins and carrier bolts, so that I can get the front drivers brake working. Along with some new brake fluid.

I might end up replacing the whole brake system with new parts, calipers, carriers, cylinder, lock stock the f*kin lot!

Replaced my front brake calipers and carriers at the weekend, here is the thread
