To save money in the mid 90's did the MOD ask Land Rover to upgrade some of the current stock 90/110's with what the could from the new Wolfs?

My 90 seems to have many such upgrades, however the origin of these is unknown. I am yet to contact the previous owner who had the vehicle for moving horses since it was released from the MOD in 2002.

There is bucket loads of previous paperwork dating back from 2 months after the MOD release, all the way up until June 13, but nothing in there relating to the Wolf mods???

not sure what your asking tbh.

LR supplied the MOD with various versions of the defender, but they also get tweaked, modified and adapted throughout their life, hence why there are differences between just about every ex MOD vehicle.

i think what he's asking is, "are these mods, which i'm not going to tell you what they are, mods that the MOD asked land rover to fit to my land rover?"

The mods are, Wolf bonnet, front bumper, rear lights, doors, wheels, soft top frame and canvas, front grill and headlight guards.

Like i said, loads of bills with the 90, from receipts for wiper blades to the bill for the 200tdi conversion but no mention of the above.

To make my point clearer did the army send some of their old land rovers back and say fix these up please as well as purchasing the new 'Wolfs'

Thanks again,

Considering they're all bolt on bits why would the MOD send them anywhere let alone back to LR?

Apologies i don't mean back to Land Rover per say, i mean sent back to the Army's depot where they carry out their vehicle re-fits...

I'm pretty sure REME would be more than happy to bolt on whatever fits that they have lying around....

We have a few floating around here somewhere, I'm sure they'll know

All 90s and 110s were updated and modded as part of project tithonus. This included the fibreglass hard top, soundproofing, new front and bench seats etc...

Sorry to break it to you but there is nothing special about a wolf's parts. They're all standard land rover. I never can understand peoples fascination and desire to pay over the top prices cos someone said its 'off a wolf' when infact its just standard LR. All of your parts are standard

Just a pet name for a project is all.......... nothing special about a wolf

If this helps
I brought mine at lrover show Peterborough last week & I received the release papers today, it gives me the mil reg & date into service 1995
It is absolutely spotless in & out I have been led to believe it has been in climate controlled storage for many years @ alvechurch storage camp as reserve war stock.
It has only done 29.000 miles in 18 years, hopefully I will pick it up next weekend at Witham's.
It is coil sprung all round discs all round civvi lights r380 gearbox & Salisbury rear, more than happy

Project Tithonus! So thats probably what mine underwent i imagine. I knew there was something that happened along those lines. I was speaking to a chap today from the EMLRA who stated it would have been fixed up to look like a wolf by the new owner who purchased it from the MOD auction.
