military number plates

hello all!
just coming to the final stages of my landrover lightweight 2a rebuild just wondering were i can find the original military number plate number from and the history of the vehicle? tried the DVLA they just talked a load of b*ll*cks when is asked them.
any help ill be apprieciated.

you should find the vehicles number plate on the chassis plate, all military landy`s chassis plate displays the reg no. to track history you can approach the rlc(royal logistics corp) museum. plate locations vary from series 1`s where on the inner wing to s111 on bulk head to 90/110 on seat box, l/h side. best of luck
