Hi Guys
OK , ive nearly completed the installation of a 300 tdi into my x military defender.
im having a few issues working out the remaining wires as the haynes manual information doesnt match what ive got ?
specifically i need to find which wires go to the stop solenoid on the injector pump , the oil temp sender , the oil pressure switch and the water temp sender .
im guessing the stop solenoid just needs a12 volt supply to lift the solenoid open ??which i could patch into the ign switch if wire cannot be traced .
Cheers

Have a search for the wire colours used, the diagrams always seem to be wrong.

I will have a look at mine later and tell you what colours mine were (1990 2.5NA).

The issue is they are all spade connectors aren't they? The longest one is probably the temp - the shortest probably stop solenoid.

You could work it out - do you have a multi-meter?

As above, probably easiest to work it out with a DMM - the manual colours might be useful as a first attempt guess type of thing - and you could try RAVE to see what colours are in there ...... But, a DMM and some long test leads should enable you to trace the correct wires in a couple of hours, max... :)

Your stop solenoid should be 'Camoflagilated White' and the tempeature Sender should be 'Green with a Camoflagilated Stripe' if thaty helps.
Apart from which, the longer of them should be the temp and the shorter should be the Fuel Stop ... unless I did it, in which case they would ll be either Sea Blue (a gizzit from the Andrew), or Red ( which would be another gizzit from the Parasites), all of which are stuck in place with Blue 6.3mm Spades coz we ran out of shovels!
