Hi - as y'all know I've got the dashboard on my freelander in bits following a minor electrical fire in the PTC subsystem. I've got the heater controls off and I have found two microswitches on the heater controls, one is on the thermostat, which I know is for the PTC heater, the other is on the mode controls, as in the control for directing the airflow, ie screen / feet / dash vents etc... I have no idea what this second switch is for? Can anyone enlighten me as to what its for?

Like the PTC switch on the temperature control knob, this mystery switch control is operated by a cam lobe after its been rotated to roughly about one oclock. The three wires on the plug that connects to the mystery switches fly lead are black, pink + grey, and black. The switch im asking about is located on the left hand side of the heater controls, but on the right hand side of this picture as I'm photographing it from the back.

If it's on the diverting control, and clicks when the control is set to the screen position, then the switch is linked to the AC, so it fires up the AC to speed up de-misting.
