As per thread title i have a message that pops up on my display saying `max speed 35mph` what is it and what does this mean ?

i bought the rangie not long back its had a coil kit put on but compressor still works as i can hear it so i can only guess its had the EAS bypassed as it says EAS manual on dash , or has it been done on the cheap and just had codes cleared ? as it was fine up til i dis connected the battery to fit the hot start fix box (which didnt work) so i returned all wiring to as before .

since connecting battery up it shows a very quick max speed 35mph message only once then the set windows message , throttle is slugish only revs to around 14-1700 rpm .

any ideas ?

thanks

Sounds like whoever did the conversion is all thumbs and no fingers. You'll struggle to get help with your situation because your vehicle is outside of OE standards. You'd need to get a sparky involved who is also a specialist on P38s so they can help track down the fault.

Ive bought a diag cable and will download the eas suite when it shows in a bid to find and clear codes .

Was working fine til I disconnected battery.

Are you certain that your max speed warning (set on the left hand stalk) hasn't been set to 35 mph? As you no longer have air suspension the EAS lead and software won't help you.
Your 'windows set' is standard after removing the battery feed. Cured by running each window down and up holding the button for a couple of seconds at fully down then fully up.
That leaves your revving issue and neither of the above will affect that. What else have you disturbed whilst you were under the bonnet.

Diagnostic cable is a waste of money unless you intend to do the decent thing and put it back on air. Do a search, you need a link fitted on the EAS ECU to blank the message.

"Max speed 35mph" is a warning from the EAS. It should have a bypass fitted to cut out the EAS ECU. If the compressor runs obviously something is wrong. What is wrong in my view is that it has no airbags on it.

The speed limiter on stalk is off .

Windows have been set .

I touched nothing that coukd of caused the revving issue unless taking the ecu out the box it slides in has dislodged a wire thats assuming its fly by wire throttle

I did read somewhere that a fault n eas could cause the max speed as it thinks your on bump stops and by dis/reconnecting battery it picks up old fault code , sounds plausible I thought lol

Perhaps a loose wire in the ecu plug is causing this as its the only thing other than battery I touched .

Petrol or diesel and what year?

Am I right in thinking this site has a section listing members with diagnostic equipment ?

If you put your location down there maybe someone near you. But what good are diagnostics on a system that is not working? It should have a bypass cable fitted. You should not see any messages. And the compressor should not be running unless you are mistaking the ABS pump noise for the EAS compressor.

Diagnostics is for the engine problem:)

It is possible yes however the eas console light still works .

since all ive done is electrical than surely its a fault .

Or a dodgy wire in the ecu plug .
