Hello- I'm looking to get into my first Range Rover Sport, have up to £20k to spend, and only do up to 5,000 miles per annum. I'm tempted by the performance and character of a Supercharged 4.2 litre petrol HSE or HST - but am somewhat conscious of not 'wasting' my hard-earned cash on fuel. Whilst frugal, the 2.7 diesel looks mind-numbingly dull. What would you do?

The 2.7 is underpowered id go for the tdv8 3.6 expect to see 20 to 23 mpg around town depends on how hard you drive it and upto 30mpg on a run. The v8 petrol id expect to see 10 to 14mpg around town again depends on how you drive it and 20mpg on a good run.

I love the sound of the 3.6tdv8 and they do shift when needed.

You need to try the new 3.0 diesel in the new sport alot better and quicker than the old 3.6 and the 5.0sc is an animal, the joys of working for the main dealer!!!! :D

I was talking to a guy who had a new red edition which look subtle but nice and he had the new V6 twin turo diesel and said it was really good for mileage and performance. He buys new every 3 years and had different engines and said this was the best comprises.
