hi guys just saying hi,would like to thank you guys,as its been a great help to me already, with regards to grinding noise coming from my 98 freelander turned out the VCU had failed.after reading certain threads turns out the best economical way to sort it is to take off propshaft! so i did excellent news problem sorted drives like a dream now 2wd only, yea i am aware of the implications now insurance etc lost 4wd capabilitys but its worth it instead of scrapping a perfectly working vehicle which is in fact in very good condition iam over the moon!!!!:) but when funds are better i might consider converting it back but we will see! thanks again chaps

:welcome2: check out "bell engineering" and "ashcroft engineering" websites for prices of irds and vcus and labour. May be cheaper to keep it 2wd and run it into the ground then buy a newer one.
