Hi All,

Recently had credit with the aa so took out their £65 per annum breakdown repair option (£25 excess/£500 repair - 5 times a year). Sounds pretty good, but I can imagine them trying to weasel out of it if something goes wrong!!

All they seem to want to make sure of is that the vehicle has been serviced to m'facturers requirements (i.e not mine which it currently is - oil/filter change, etc). Where can I find these as I reckon they could be expansive!

Car is 2000 with 92k on.

Thanks all.

Owners handbook, try ebay or even Landrover themselves though it might be too old a model for their stock.

Hello

If you buy the Haynes manual this lists all the service requirements for evey 12000 miles, which I believe are above and beyond the manufactures specs. Its also bloody useful when you can't put it back together:p

hope this helps

Better with Landrovers owners handbook, then it's more difficult for them to wriggle out of a claim.

Sorry, it's a Td4 Automatic.

Got the Haynes manual and it's pretty god, but I was looking for a nice complete comprehensive list!!

Thanks for replies so far...

I use this maintenance sheet but is it enough to satisfy them?
If you don't have a stamp in the service record they may take the view that anyone can fill in a piece of paper.
Will anyone stamp the book for you?

its funny you should post that because one of our customers who came into us the other day with a knocking noise. It turned out to be a broken road spring but he couldn't get paid out because he drove it to the garage rather than get it towed there.

As with warranties you have to comply with the terms and conditions.

This cover is potentially worth £2500 p/a minus £125 excess.

It's got to be worth having the service carried out by a local LR specialist working to the correct schedule and stamping the service record.

you wont be able to home service it bud

it will have to be done by a vat registered garage following the manufacturers recommendations and give you proper invoices and stamps

Yes, that's what I thought.

My old man's a Land Rover dealer, so stamping isn't a problem! Only problem is he's in the Isle of Man and I'm in Cheltenham!

Think I'll get it properly serviced here and go from there...

Beg your pardon old bean, but if your Pappy is an LR dealer, then why not just ask him for the service schedule................................................:wtf::wtf::wtf:

No, not at all - it's good to get a breadth of answers and opinions. Is that not the point of forums after all?

A dealer would have given me one answer i.e. his opinion.

I appreciate all the answers, and am now in a better position to make a decision, so thanks to everyone.
