Hi Everyone, A bit of a long one, but could really do with somebody with experience helping me answer a couple of questions!

I finally brought a Discovery 4 (63/2014) plate in June last year, after a few years of waiting for the disco4 facelift to come in to my price range. All been great so far, waited to purchase from a main Dealer (Hatfield's Land Rover, Yorkshire) with an extended LR warranty after reading lots of posts on here over the years. Needing an MOT next month (and possibly a service, read on!) I've been reading over the warranty conditions in relation to servicing and again checked the online LR service record for my car. I have two alerts on the landing page:
  • Our records show that this vehicle was due a service 456 day(s) ago. Please review your servicing history and contact your preferred Retailer for any action required.
  • Missing service record for the 80000 miles/60 months service.
So, in relation to servicing requirements, in the warranty book it states:
'Services must be carried out within 1000 miles/one month of the intervals specified by the vehicle manufacturer, whichever comes first'.

My Question!: Car is FEB 2014 reg, as you can see from the below service records it hasn't had the official 60 month service, and is now 72 months old (but it is obviously under the 80k miles service). My concern is the 'whichever comes first' line in the warranty T&C's - essentially does the fact it hasn't had this service by 61 months potentially invalidate my warranty? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick and it can be up to 80k miles?

I reviewed the service history on purchase, I don't have n in-car service warning coming up so am wondering if I am wrong and/or worrying unduly? or if , in-fact this is something I need to go back to LR on (as it was 'fully serviced when purchased'), If my thoughts are correct I would have essentially been given a warranty that couldn't be claimed on due to the servicing not happening at the right time?

No it doesn’t invalidate your vehicles warranty, but any claim for work required in the opinion of the LR garage was due to the lack of a service won’t be covered... probably.
But the good news is, as your vehicle is a Land Rover Quality Assured used vehicle the warranty will reflect that based on the servicing that takes place from the date of sale.

Don’t forget to have it serviced at least every year while any warranty is in place, it was renewed for only four years then your on your own, may still be the same.
