manual to auto conversion on a D2

Hi . we have a 1999 disco 2 its an original manual with air con and ACE on coil springs, but we were thinking of using a autobox that we have and the wire harness ,shifter and cables and oil cooler from a crashed 2002 D2 that was an auto and somehow fit everything and get it working right .

just a few questions before we attempt this
1- has anyone done this before?
2- what exactly is needed to do the full conversion ?
3- will it require any recoding and other special electrical work ,eg. new ECU or instrument cluster ?

any ideas or comments are welcome

you need hawkeye or other to change to auto instead of manual ,the rest is bolt on parts,

i have a hawkeye ,but i didnt know it could do that (i havent had it very long ). good to know it can be done . but how much of the wire harness will need to be changed ?
