has anybody got or fitted 1 of their new ones ?
do like the look of it and am reluctant to go for a safari 1 as there is quite a lot driling of wing and window pillar.
just wondered if the mantec 1 is any less

Mine is a mantec one. 4 bolts in the windscreen pillar. and a bit of trimming out of sight behind the side vent is required.
 
why what? well mounts in the pillar for pretty much every snorkel (cept mine) doesnt fit with cage because the angle coming off the wing intake. I had one of their plastic ones and thought of butchering it to make it fit but decided to sell it instead. bought a cheapo paddocks thinking it would be ok and it was just as tight! so i had to take 3" off it. fits now with 2 big jubilee clips holding it to the cage. other option would have been southdown.

It was the why doesn't it fit with a cage. Mine is metal with a mushroom top and flexi rubber pipe between the wing vent and top pipe. I am hoping to fit a cage when finances allow. I used my rollcage money to get the headgasket done.
 
I see. well as you have the basic one, you should be able to modify it. i just cut about 3" off the metal mount and put the rubber hose back on. forget getting snorkel tabs welded just use 2 x 100mm jubilee clamps. work a treat :D

dont think i want a cage on my new baby :D just dont want the td5 turned into a water pump before the old 1987 90 is ready to take up the post of off-roader prime :rolly:

Southdown probably make the best snorkel if your not keen on DIY. I did find my £70 paddocks special worked on a 4ft river crossing on the Fosse way a few weeks back!

they would'nt sell many if they dont work when fitted properly .
as to this 1 well it will be a no looker 100% fuctional

:hysterically_laughi yep its not seen any shampoo for about 3 years a mate has a gash tin of lime green paint (body panel sprayer) and said i can have it and use his shop to blow it over
