Disco 2 Maintenance to consider over 100k

So iv owned my D2 TD5 for 2 weeks and here is a list of whats been done:

EGR Blank
Stainless pipe
Engine service inc filters
Diff oils
Gear box oil
Transfer box oil
New rear bags
Starter motor rebuild
Refaced manifold

Although I believe in "If it aint broken dont fix it" I do like to keep on top of things as she will be relied up on to get me to work and the kids to school.

From experience is there anything else I need to consider?

keep changing the oils ,all of the regularly,keep it well waxoyled or other product ,replace wheel hubs etc as required

Thanks for your reply James. Shes due in for a steam clean in 2 days then i plan on getting underneath with the waxoyl gun and cover the lot!

Hopefully it lasts as im not sparing any expense.

Has anyone used the aftermarket thermostats which apparently open up at a lower temp?
 
Check the rear propshaft rubber doughnut and replace if there are any signs of wear or splits starting.
Grease both front and rear propshaft u/js and slider joints.
Check the thickness and surfaces of the brake discs, all round and replace if necessary. Pads are a maintenance item anyway (or they should be).
Check all engine hoses for splits or signs of failure.
It's supposed to be the height of summer right now, so some might say that now is a good time to start on winterising, new wiper blades, new headlight bulbs, check the anti-freeze concentration and so on.
Check also that you have all the standard kit to change a wheel; jack, wheelbrace, locking nut key, etc.

Oh, and don't forget to put a Nanocom or Hawkeye on your Christmas list to Santa.
 
If you haven't already done so, download a copy of RAVE for the Disco 2.
You'll find whole bunches of good stuff in there; workshop manual, electrical circuit diagrams and the LR 60 point maintenance schedule amongst other things.

Apart from the good stuff already said do the things that most people can't be bothered with so consequently always deteriorates such as
ACE block filter (if fitted)
ACE fluid change (if fitted)
Power steering fluid change
Brake fluid change
Air con (if fitted) service
Coolant flush and change
Do some research on injector cleaning - not sure about the effectiveness of this myself but I really haven't read up too much yet
Engine oil flush would probably be beneficial at the next change
Intercooler flush out with petrol
Radiator debris clean out
A damn good clean down of the engine and gearbox/transfer cases to check for fresh fluid leaks etc

Iv already done research on ACE and injectors exc.
I plan to change the coolant next week along with ACE filter and brake fluid. Injectors seem to be ok just now but will get them off before the next service to check the seals and washers.

Iv heard good things about the millers additive which has been thrown in my tank before fill ups.
 
When you do the injectors, just make sure that you get the bores clinically clean. I've just used my 4th set of genuine washers chasing down poor idling - even going so far as to anneal the new genuine washers each time. 4th time lucky it turned out to be cylinder 2 that was the poor seal... scotch brite is your friend!
 
Injector seals. I have just been forced into changing mine and it not only fixed the breakdowns, it restored performance I did not know I had lost. You only need 8mm, 10mm, 1/2inch sockets, the 'special tools' to lock the cam gear and remove the injectors and you are away.
