Changed the oil in my gearbox and transmission the other day!
Was surprised to find these amazing formations!
I wonder how long they took to form?
Goodness only knows!

Manual gearbox quite normal if oil not been changed in a long time, auto box start worrying!

Auto tranns tend to have magnets sititng in the bottom of the sump, normally coated in fine grey sludge.

Those magnets work well. I’ve installed one in my Thor V8 oil sump to replace the old drain plug.

Be careful of that, it may try and turn the crank the opposite way
