That's what I thought....but the original post indicated that this was done from the interior of the Beast....

At the risk of further humiliation...

I'm pretty sure I have a bonnet release just to the left of my steering column. I usually give it a tug and the bonnet pops up enough to undo the safety (from the outside) and raise it the rest of the way.

My challenge was getting out of bed. Took a whole mug of tea!

I'm still laughing. What makes me truly brilliant is that I measured the under-seat compartment *yesterday* right before ordering a new battery. Right, off to sleep while I can.

Just have a go at getting in there and fingering it! no need for pliers, you might fray it?!

Maybe if you really had to get under the bonnet you could stick a blow torch on it but for God's sake keep it at a distance.

I used the MHM's idea this weekend and sprayed cheap household polish onto all the rubber door seals and into the door locks on my Landies and the Polo. All of them opened perfectly over the weekend.

This gives me hope that I am not the only div to enter dopey topics on the site Thank you !!!!!

I just been out in the cold to check my 90 and yes I've got one of those release catch thingies beside my steering wheel, but I didn't know so thanks for that...

I am still confused, did you managed to open the bonnet by starting the engine to warm it to charge a flat battery?
