Ma bonnet froze shut

Went out tonight to charge the battery because it's almost flat (cold weather). Got in and tried to pop the hood (bonnet), but the release wouldn't budge. Got out and gave the hood a little persuasion (whacked it), but still no joy. Got back in and thankfully the engine cranked. Let it run for a while, came back and the release worked the first time.

I guess I would've gotten more persuasive (a hammer) if the engine didn't start. What else would you have done if it didn't start/warm up/thaw?

Please enlighten me if there's another way to charge the battery without opening the hood.

Try looking for the battery underneath the passenger seat. Thats where mine is hiding.

I open the passenger door, lift off the seat base and remove the battery box lid to get at the battery in my 90:mooning:

charge the battery, start the engine, when it gets warm, open the bonnet.

That's the thing that sticks out of the front grille and you grab with a pair of pliers to open the bonnet.

The first challenge for me this morning was gettin the fookin door open, never mind the bonnet!
Took a whole bucket of hot water.
