My box is leaking.
I have ordered some Lucas "Stop Leak"

Lucas Oil Products (UK) - Heavy Duty & High Performance Lubricants

as per a thread on here advised and will try it because my leak is small...I have bought a Litre bottle £20 seeing as 340ml bottle was £10.50 (Do I chuck the whole bottle in after sucking out some power steering fluid?)

Is there a bleed point below the steering oil resevoir (that would be good coz I could just add the lucas whilst bleeding the old fluid out and stop air getting in system).

I realise it may not work; some on here have said it did work for them and some have said it didn't - may depend upon how bad leak was I'm hoping.

Cheers.

i've used it once on a small leak and it worked for about a year and a half... IMO for big leaks is wasted money, to let fluid out, unplug the return pipe(the thinner one from above) and clog the orifice on the reservoir then direct it down and let oil drain out through it

Hi Mate did it work for you? I'm just about to try the same thing.
Kev

I will eventually have to change the box.

As it was a small leak, it has given me time (hopefully until Spring).

So, for small leaks, worht the money to save time, but will never be a longtime solution.

cheers

i used this stuff on my 95 disco two weeks ago and it has slowed the leak considerably but difficult to asses its true worth as its been bloody cold here down to -15 and the disco isnt used every day so not use on its efficacy yet but at 20 quid a pop and it being so cold that i dont want to start stripping things im happy with it as a temp measure.
