So right now i have a 90 with a v8 attached to a lt95

When it was converted to v8 they removed the lt77 and fitting the lt95, no idea why!

anyway, if i was to fit an lt95 and lt230 would the engine need moving forwards/backwards?

I bought an lt77 tunnel which was was going to fabricate to fit over the 95 but i thought about dropping out the gearbox and fitting an lt77 but thinking the engine might be in the wrong position.

Thanks

They fitted the LT95 and the V8 as they generaly came together and the box can take the power/torque of the V8. Have a look at your 95 and see it is a one piece gearbox and transferbox so no Lt 230 then.

in a std 90 when a v8 was fitted it was fitted right up to rad like a 300tdi and even though long bell housing was fitted transmission sits about 2 inches further forward than 4 cylinder lt77, v8 lt77 is the same length as a disco box

My v8 doesnt sit right up near the rad, its about 2-3 inches further back. Looking underneath it looks like the gearbox mountings are the origional and the engine mounts are welded it.

So chances are it could i could fit without moving the engine??

its not in the std postition perhaps ie fitted in a 4 cylinder transmission position

Standard 200tdi are slightly further back (approx 4” to the centreline of the mounts).
If that makes sense

Hello,

Yeah thats where my engine mounts are. So it looks like the gearbox an engine mounts are in the right place.

So know i just need to know if the length of the LT77 and transfer is the same length as the lt95.
