I'm looking at changing things around in my wagon. I have an Essex V6 engine that I was going to fit into my wagon but have changed my mind (it's for sale on the forum if anyone wants it). When I get more time, I'm thinking of putting in a 200di conversion and would like to find out if an LT77 Gearbox would go into my series 2a Landy with it? I think I have heard people talking about this conversion but I'm not sure what the outcome was.
Can anyone shine a light on the subject and advise me on any problems that may occur with such an idea please?

I have a series 2a and also want to change the engine and gearbox have heard of putting a 200di is easier than putting a 2.5 n/a out of a 90 or 110 which i was going to fit but am know unsure what made you go for the 2oodi wont you have to change the radiators or cooling system? here is some info my mate sent me ref the gear box

A Series 3 gearbox will fit a 2A but you will need to cut one of the crossmember stiffening
plates to clear the clutch slave cylinder. The LT77 (90/110) box is about four inches longer -
you can fit it to the Series transfer box using an Ashcroft adapter kit, but you will still have a
lot of work getting everything to fit.

hope this helps
