Lr3/RRS late shifts

Hi i just bought the car so no idea if this is new or ongoing but it drives nice shifts nice etc, but it hangs onto the gears past 40mph upto 4k without shifting down, if i select manual mode itll shift no problem.. is this a common issue? Cars on 116k miles

Oil level is critical.
Leaks even minor ones will drop the level enough to cause issues.
If you diy and own an allen key they are easy enough to check.
