LPG - Spare wheel, to carry or not to carry

I just wondered, do those of you with a LPG tank in the spare wheel space carry the spare wheel in the boot or do you leave it in the garage?

leave it at home, get a can of that tyre foam stuff

Likewise. But I figure with a P38, a puncture is the area of least fear when out and about...

i take my spare tyre everywhere with me i keep meaning to go down the gym to loose it

I'm weighing it in tomorrow ill get £9 for it

My misses drives it most of the time and when it comes to changing tyres she's as much use as pockets in your underpants, so no we don't bother carrying it.

Carry it on long journeys and have a very snazzy carry bag for it as well so the luggage stays nice and dandy

This might be the answer for you doughnut tank lpg boys........you could keep it in the glove box

I'm a breakdown patrol, and most of the clubs will not provide recovery if no spare is available that was supplied as standard.
If it's during business hours your ok, but out of hours your only choice would be a private recovery(at your own expense) or call out tyre company but you could eaisly pay as much in call-out as the cost of a new tyre.

We all think it won't happen to us!

The tyre foam is as much use as a chocolate tea pot, you have to have the correct type of puncture for it to work, I've used many of them and at best have had a 5-10% success rate!

When I had a spare wheel tank, I still carried the spare by laying it flat on the floor and fitting a false floor on top of it.All the other kit. jacks, jump leads,small tool box etc went under neath it as well. Nice neat solution, and minimal loss of boot space.

In preparation for a proposed LPG fit with a donut tank in the spare wheel spot, I bought a swing away rear mount for the spare.

BUT, the LPG fit didn't happen, and I'm more likely to go the Webber quad route than LPG now, so the rear mount rig is still laying unused in the garden.

I specifically went out and bought a spare. Just had 4 new tyres fitted and using puncture foam means your tyre is useless afterwards, so no brainer. Put it in the boot with 2 x flexible spare wheel covers over it, one each side. Nice and tidy.
