LPG Observations... A Question

Since fixing my coils & plug leads, the car has run the best it ever has.

However, I noticed the other day that the LPG switched over (I thought a bit early) an was hesitant, a bit missy & generally under powered at low throttle settings. Foot to the board and a small hesitation then off like a scalded rat.

My thoughts are it's switching too early as the temp needle is still climbing.

Anyway, once she was properly hot she was perfect the rest of the day.

But I have seen this a few times now, mostly in the very cold 1st starts. Visited a friend for an hour & it was minus 4C but she fired up no issues and drove beautifully.

Any thoughts??

Ha .Now uv got a interior The same as mine ..Get yourself a diesel engine and you wont have to worry about ,,Trying to make it as cheep as a diesel to run ...

Ughh, nooooooooo

I love the sound of the V8 and besides, it's only done 17k miles

Just about 3K to go before a liner drops, the cam wears out and the head gasket goes then

LPG Diagnostic is most likely the only was, as the LPG ECU monitors Vap temp, and once it goes above a certain threshold, it will switch over the fuel.

Yep need to visit LPG installer to zap the changeover temp. I reckon if set too low then you stand chance of icing up as it doesnt go back to petrol if temp goes tooooo low

Looks like a trip to Lossiemouth then.

I'm happy to do it manually, so to speak, for now. In that I can start as normal and let the petrol take her up to normal running temp, then switch to LPG.

I imagine this may have been a hidden issue and has only come to light since I fixed all the ignition lead problems.

Such is life with a 38
