Hi guys

I'm in the process of LPGing my Disco 3 V8i (2003). I've been to a guy in North London, who insists that I cannot have a hidden tank amd have to lose one of the rear seats in the back! The system he's offering is BRC. Anybody know how I can get a tank in without losing rear space? I've already had the 'get a really small one' gag, but if anybody knows of any alternatives?

Also got a slight tapping on idle (750rpm), from the engine??

..err

thanks

Remove main petrol tank from the disco, replace with under slung gas tank, and install small petrol tank as listed above, less capacity on petrol but good capacity for gas :)

Your Disco is a Discovery 2, Disco 3 has spare wheel underneath car. Anyway,as Twinter 2 says, get in touch with Tinley Tech, they are really helpfull. On mine I have 2 x 40 litre lpg tanks in a cradle where fuel tank used to be, then a smaller petrol tank just behind the RHR Bodyside.
Another place to try who I found slightly cheaper was FES Autogas. Based in Wales, altho Tinley Tech may be better for advise

Quote from wiki: "On 2 April 2004, Land Rover introduced the Discovery 3"

You got a late disco 2 mate (probably got confused as the later facelifted model has fancy lights and you perhaps assumed it must be a later Disco model than the early D2?) Have a look on wikipedia and see which one you have.

If its a 2 then the best plan as mentioned above is to remove the petrol tank and replace it with LPG tank/s, you will then also have to have a smaller tank for startup on petrol before it switches to LPG.

Should have got a D1, full size petrol tank and 2 torpedo cylinders behind either sill (90L), you can then add a BBQ gas fitting in the boot for emergencies, you can then up end and strap a calor bottle in and get even more range even when there isnt a autogas station in sight

or get one of these LPG Transfer Pump | eBay and fill up wherever you want. Strictly for off road use only of course.

But I can see im not really helping so im off to make my tea.....

Hi folks

Thanks for your help again. Spoke to the lpg man about Tinley Tech and he's going for that. You're right about the upgraded dico 2 though (shame as I thought it was a 3). Oh well, going to cost a few bob more, but worth it for the extra space I gain!! Thanks again
