I've recently got a 2015 discovery sport hse luxury 2.2. So far all is good apart from the low battery start engine warning before starting the car and when turning off the ignition. I've had the battery checked and the alternator and all is well. Had no problems starting the car so was just wondering if this is normal. Thanks in advance for any help, it takes me a while to reply due to my job ,
.

So was the battery fully charged, if it was when it was checked? then it would give an ok report.
My discos factory fitted battery only lasted 4years, my warning was the engine wouldn’t turn over, but now there’s a smart dash warning to tell the owner is on its way out, maybe. A main dealer or even your owners handbook will give you more information.

The battery was fully charged and the alternator was working ok but still the low battery warning came on. Handbook says take it for a run but it still comes on

Or a new battery. Stop-start has lead to batteries having more fussy monitoring and reduced battery life. Our 65 plate Ford Kuga required a new battery, before it needed it's first MOT, as the battery monitor determined the battery was past it's best.

Hi , hope this finds u well

Indeed that’s a good point where the system checks it’s condition similarly to a ctek battery charger checks a batteries

Will be fun as more electric cars become the norm

Same thing happened to my 10 month old ranger, and previously to 2 year old disco 4
