loud clonk from rear

Hi Folks

I have a K series 02 reg manual, recently started getting a loud clonk from the rear when pulling away.
my local dealer who I bought the car from worthingtons near Tring, who are excellent say its the rear centre gearbox mounting and is a cheap and easy fix, I was going to do this myself, anyone else tried this, However tonight while driving around a roundabout there was a loud grating type noise that seemed to be coming from the rear near side. When this happened before it was a rubber coupling type thing on the prop shaft, that was only 12 months ago, surely it can be shot already

Any advice will be much appreciated.

I had that.
Someone told me it was my bush.
I trimmed it - no difference!

I had that on my freelander 1 it was rear diff mounts. I changed all 3 and that cured the problem for me.

looked underneath and the centre diff mount has clearly broken, is it difficult to replace, I can see the centre bolt and 2 support bolts but actually see how it comes out without dropping the diff

No not to difficult to do, pop over to the how to section and you will find an very good guide on how to replace them, I sure it was done by Hippo.
