Loud banging noise

hi there everyone im new to this site and looking for some help please.
i have a 51 plate freelamder td4 2l es and when driving if you clucth in to change to 2nd then i release the clucth im getting a lound banging noise as if theres an engine mount gone or something but it comes from the back of the car. any ideas ??

or maybe A frame ball joint

do these 2 problems have an easy fix solution ie are they easy to repair can i do it myself?

they are 1 and the same mate , sorry my atempt at humour
you could remove the ball joint holder but unless you have access to a press to remove the old joint no go (could take it to your local garage and get them to press it out and the new 1 back in

do freelanders have an aframe bucky?

Would put my money on, top rear diff mount, and do a search on here about checking and replacing

A frame? Caravans have an A frame. Do you mean the wishbone bucky?

It's the diff mount for sure annyway. Do a search and you'll find a few threads on how to replace. Easy job, no need to take to a garage.

proper landrovers (ones that have chassis) have an A frame that locates the rear axle

Rear Diff Mount bushes. Replace all 3 at the same time - tiz easier. If that aint it then move on to
rear subframe mount
Rear chassis cracked
VCU mounting

or burn it(thought i wuld get that in before BoB with his gaylord leather seats)
