I would say Replace as Those Citroen's are a pile of ****e and just not worth repairing.

Get yourself a nice German car instead, or was you talking about something else? :p

Oh yes get rid of the french car, is it an electric???

Mine looked like that.

Mate I got a replacement off e-bay, spares type place. no gtee but worth a punt @ £80 with the short half shaft. pain to fit, coz the drive shafts are very hefty.
We built the hubs then slid the whole lot in spose you could do it the other way shaft in first. then put the hubs on.
Good luck mate

Its looking more likely that i will have to source one here as the price to get one sent over is just a bit too hefty at 35 euros for the package upto 30kgs, so 500 zloties it is, thats about £100 in real money:(
Well done Discopol...really enjoyed reading this thread, made me smile!
Thanks Harriet, glad you enjoyed it, i have a feeling it will be dragging on for a while so stick about, it may get funnier or it may sink into the depressed mumblings of a brit abroad ranting about the snow falling and the disco not going, sadly looking at todays weather (6 inches of snow in the last 2 hours) I have a feeling the latter possibility is looking favourite:mad:

Anything fallen off yet....:lmao:

You might tell I'm not a great lover of French cars... ;)

Anyway, stop with all the Snow reports, I brought my Landy early last year in anticipation and the weather has been so mild here its unreal.... :(

Its a new motor so when (not if) it breaks i just shout at citroen polska and they will give me another one, its my company car so before it becomes a liability i will shift it on and get another new one, again keeping the tax man off my back but non of this helping me with my poorly disco, its still snowing now

Ok back to the point in hand, Yesterday I replaced another track rod end(thats 3 out of the 4 now)
reconditioned my front propshaft: fully stripped down. slide out, cleaned with petrol regreased and back together, greased all UJs till i had pumped through double the amount of old grease and it ran clean, reassembled and cleaned.

washed out old wheel bearings, i say old but less than 2 months old but had got some water and mud in there so they needed a bloody good clean to run smooth again.

then spent an hour or so on the phone to some Polish friends over here that drive discos, trying to locate a good front diff for not too much money and hopefully from somebody i know, im guessing that way i wont be given the worse looking one from the pile, which is my fear if i just order off the equivalent of eblag over here.

Found one through a friend of a friend and after dismissing the first price as being just plain stoopid have got the price down to 550 zloty, so about 110 quid, more than i wanted to pay but about the going rate over here, so now its just a case of scraping the cash together, im self employed so january is always a bad month anyway as i only work for half december and this year even less as we buggered off to t'egypt for chrimbo.

so now its just a waiting game whilst i sort out the other bits and pieces on the front axle whilst its in bits, I may as well use this time to get those inner arches welded up as well seeing as both front wheels and hubs are out of the way, so leaving plenty of space.

Finally all fitted and back together, had to hug the bottle of ep whilst pouring down the patented filler device to fill the diff but its all done, and it drives again, albeit with a slight tug to the left (that will be the tracking out from replacing another TRE) no just got to crack on and wait for warmer weather so i can finish the welding, but at leaast she is drivable again.

HALI Fecking ULAH

it was only -15 out there today, almost summery:rolleyes:
