never had any broblems with mY freeelander but over the last few weeks i notice the header tank level droppin by about 1 inch a week is this the 1st signes of the head gasket on way out
thers no other signes tho no oil in water or creemy sludge in oil filler cap

local garadge quoted me £ 400 to do h/g

was thinkin of doin it before it ****s engine as so many seem to have

with the new h/g mod from land rover can i assume that I WONT HAVE THIS WORRY AGAIN

there was somthing on here about two weeks ago . someone else had a water leak and they traced it to the rad , i think, any way it wasn't th eHG

do a "gas" check - for combustion gases in water, do a compression test and a water pressure test. and replace the filler tank cap - coz they cant test that.

as u say there is no oil water mix eitherway round, then if it is headgasket you will be losin coolant through the cylinder to exhaust, so a block/combustion gas in water test will show this up.

but be sure to check for external leaks aswell :)
