Loss of power then failed to start

Hello all.

Done lots of reading on this forum and most of the time I can find what I need without posting

I have a bit of a problem that I've not been able to narrow down by searching.

On the way in to work on Thursday I got a sudden loss of power so I coasted to the side of the road.

I tried to re-start and it fired but then died after a few seconds.
Waited a few minutes then tried again. It fired but then then stopped after a second.
Now it wont fire at all!

I can't hear the fuel pump and there's no fuel pressure at the rail.
I've replaced the fuel pump relay but still nothing. I can't hear any clicks near the relays when I turn the key.
Could it be the ECU?

Oh - I've fitted a Spider Bypass loom just in case.

Not sure what you mean. I pressed the schrader valve and no fuel comes out. That's as much as I know. Could I use a cheap tyre pressure gauge to check the pressure values?

presumably youve plenty in the tank ,id check to see if you actually have any flow from pump by removing feed pipe from rail and placing end in suitable container,if not pumps blocked or faulty or inline filters blocked

All fixed now. Blocked fuel filter had caused the fuel injector fuse to blow. Changed the filter and the fuel pump was still drawing 10 amps.... Changed both the fuel pump relay and fuel injector relay.

Pump now draws 4.5amps and she's running like a dream

Need to change the fuel filter on mine.
Sprayed the bolts with WD40 so they should be able to get off.
Is it a pig of a job to do?

Clamp the pig with mole grips if it is

I change mine around 10 years age and it was a easy five minute job after jacking up and removing the wheel, but I tried a few months ago to replace it again and the glands were stuck fast and I don't seem to have the correct size spanner in my kit, I used an adjustable first time around but that would rounded of the glands this time , so back in the box the filter went, if its not broke don't fix it.
I'll get it done when its in a garage next time for a full service, unless I find the correct size of gland spanner to use before next summer.
