looking for my first disco cheapie advice please!

Hi looking for a bit of help as to which Disco to buy.

Budget of £2k, cheaper would be great seen plenty around that price, very happy to go for the tdi.

Obviously going to be pretty old, circa 94-96 I would guess, what should I look out for, I'm a mechanic so don't dumb down, have restored a series 3 in the past too, is rot an issue? Any engine problems? Electronics? Drive train?

Dont be put off tho, most people learn to live with the fact owning a disco can sometimes take over your life completely (or at least big chunks out of your weekends )
