have a dilema....my old (87) 4 door, much loved, carried my first girl in her (important if you knew the story).much much modified, lovely nissan 6pot turbo diesel/lpg too powered,up in the air..very sorted, drives sooo well and 40mpg if pushed!..etc...is quite ill,
she has major tin worm appearing in inner wings..(not a problem, have gen new ones,) and and the chassis..rear section from and including rear spring supports to cross member.major, cant plate it no more...needs proper job..and axle spring plates etc..(proberly more if i really look)

so..i need a good rrc chassis and body to transfer her soul into..or use of workshop in london for a couple of months (afterwork) to strip and repair her..

car can be stripped bare, engine and box ****ed..i dont care, just must be sound.(and legal!)..anyone know of one/place to work??
tall order i know, but I CANT scrap her, that would make me cry, as who used to ride next to me in kiddy seat used to love it...

(oh,dont trust waxoil, hides too much, next time chassis paint and oil/grease..)

Cant help you on either of points I'm afraid. I have an rrc that I'm stripping down but the chassis is gone around the a frame top mount bit. (the large round crossmember bit where it meets the chassis.) Plus it has some rust holes around the windscreentop and sides. Boot floor side areas need attention too.
Mostly stripped out as using/selling off the parts.

Have you tried ebay (and possibly also Gumtree since its so strong in London) ?
Keep checking ebay because it looks to me like RR Classic bits and cars for breaking appear in cycles with little logic apart from herd mentality. On ebay check cars motorcycles and vehicles AND vehicle parts and accessories - cars for breaking appear in both.
The Range Rover Register would be worth keeping an eye on as well.
I`d also be tempted to try a couple of Landrover specialist independent garages as well and let them know that you might be interested in a suitable MOT failure that the current owner might not want to repair ?
Ian

you can use disco chassis as is same and more available,i used to transfer alot of rrc onto disco chassis with running gear as was easy way to do 300tdi conversion, body can be lifted off in 2-4 hrs

Unusual to be that bad in my experience. I've owned 4 myself & checked out others (as a potential purchase proposition) for a friend & most of the worst examples for corrosion tend to be post '89. Have you, or a previous owner, lived or used the RR near the sea?
