Come on someone must have one laying around, i have cash here waiting, im in bedford so i can collect if its close or i can pay for delivery, but im desperate now (but that dont meant you have to charge me silly money :D), so if anyone can help that will be great

When you get the ecu, you will have to get the security code read on it and the code entered in to the BECM under "EMS" , this only applies to the diesel model, not V8. This can be done easily as your BECM is unlocked. Try a PM to Dantheman4/6...he's located in Norwich and breaks the odd P38.

Hi Chris....You need the unique code for the unit you are buying. This can be read by Rovacom.
The EMS code in your becm (2890)..see sheets sent to you, needs to be changed to the one relating to the new unit. Obviously needs to be done by someone with both the becm and Bosch Rovacom software modules. As your becm is unlocked, this is straightforward and does not need removal of the becm, and will take all of 15 minutes or so.
The new engine ecu cannot be coded to your old one (2890)..you have to code the becm to the new one..in a nutshell.

think the garage had some comp called logic something i think, i could be being stupid and wrong, ill be happy when someones diag machine can read my ecu then im getting somewhere and then i can arrange getting the becm coded (or will i need that doing before anyone would find it on there machine)
