Pretty sure you will find it is a Lucas 14CUX ECU for hotwire fuel injection which I am sure can be any 14CUX ECU - there are I think 3 or 4 different part numbers but they all work just the same.
BTW and just out of interest why you replacing the ECU?
I appreciate your input, I was told by my mechanic that it need to be replaced. The engine wouldn't start, not even any signs it would catch up, killed the battery. My mechanic says the there was a leakage in that part during the rain which damaged the Injection Control unit. I am not 100% sure as we did not test it by replacing it with another unit Well, I have no choice but to rely on him (mechanic). I also suspect that it could be Airflow Meter Sensor,
Any ideas?
Thanks again.
Cheers
Well that must be it then if a mechanic says so!!
Enough of the sarcasm already - seriously I wouldn't necessarily jump in that quickly. Search the forum there is a wealth of information to get a V8 going. There is much you can test first with nothing more than a multi meter. If you can get a substitute ECU and AFM then certainly do so, I have both and carry them as "essential spares".
If you post what sort of symptoms you had before it died then there is a chance somebody on here will be able to identify the problem and some of the peeps here really know their stuff.
If it is a 14 CUX they go on e-bay for between £65.00 and £100.00 depending on demand.
What checks did you run on the ignition system? do you have a pattern rotor arm or a genuine Lucas one? Normally if there is an EFI problem I would normally expect to see the EFI warning light coming on. Would stronglt suggest you try to borrow an ECU to test by substitution.
