to kick start my interest in these ere range rovers..im thinking of doing the london to brighton run in september...last did it in 94' in my old mini..is is still a good do on saturday night ? anybody from the northwest thinking of going down ? and can anyone predict how many petrol stops i will need in my 3.9ltr classic se ? :D

are you referring to my range rover or my old mini ? either way they both seem to be welcome at different times of the year..would appear all sorts of clubs and groups set out from crystal palace...you should give it a go..

Always thought the london to brighton run was for vintage/classic motors, not just slightly old ones??

Oddly enuff, the London to Brighton 'Land Rover' run is for Land Rovers. The Mini 'un is fer Mini's..............there's even a fkn Smart car one now FFS!

There's a few from here going. Not sure if I can make it this year, but yeah, it's still a good party night at Crystal Palace on the Saturday.

L2B is pretty good. not sure if id want to travel all the way from up north for it though. bristol-london-brighton-bristol is long enough!

sat night is pretty good, but only if you know other people there. i was kinda on me own last year so i got the tube into town to meet some friends. the run on sunday is pretty good and brighton is a nice place.

maybe there will be enough LZ interest to all camp together?

driving has never bothered me..im a bit twisted like that..i could quite happily set off to devon now !!! do the yever sell those cars on the docks at bristol..every time i go over the bridge theres always a few hundred there ?

yes, its about taking part to me ... but i do appreciate i would be passing through some better countryside on the way there, i may rethink..im not a daft 18 yr old anymore driving an economical mini...seems ive got old...now wheres me flat cap and slippers..?

:D I only usually do long trips like that to go surfing, and there's no surf in london and even less in brighton. Considering a trip down to the south west over the next couple of weeks 400 miles odd each way always travel overnight much less hassle.

well that i can understand...just come back from devon myself...ventured down as far as falmouth, bit of an epic as i had only had the range rover 3 hours before we set off to devon..soon got used to it though...smooth as you like on the motorway, and not as bad as people said on the country lanes...did a thousand miles overall in the 3 days there and back...most enjoyable...my mates a keen surfer ..lives in hayle...cornwall

L2B's one of the few occasions you get to convoy with 7/800 landies. Thru' London's a bit slow, but still a buzz. I tend to go down the M23 rather than the A road way. A lot stop at the services on the way & being a native I know a way into Brighton that avoids the 5mph crawl fer the last 4 miles or so.

Just seeing the convoy pulling away is worth it, but checking out all the landies in Brighton is fun an' orl.

There'll probably be a fred on here nearer to the time fer all going to arrange to meet up..............Anyone want to make a Landyzone flag to hoist?.........oh, & make sure you git yer LZ stickers. ;)
