Hi,

I’ve tried to search the forums for this but the search function doesn’t seem to be working at the moment so apologies if this has been covered already.

My recently purchased 02 Disco 2 is “missing” the locking wheel nut... I’ve found them online but how do I identify which “code” it is that I need?!

Sorry if that’s a dart question but it’s baffling me!

It's stamped on the removal tool if u have genuine Land Rover locking wheel nuts, also do u have the security card that will give u the code plus the other codes that u may need.
Sorry, bad explanation. It’s the removal tool I need!

No,I don’t think I have that card, have looked for it but only after purchase and couldn’t see it anywhere

Itis stamped faintly on the face but you might have to rub some rust off.

So found one that wasn't rusted up "J" stamped on it My (very) local 4x4 garage, West 4x4, were brilliant and I picked up a new locking key from them today so all sorted. And learnt a handy trick to remove the caps with the socket as my cap remover is broken!

Back to the other issues now!

I have just removed the four locking nuts and replaced them with standard nuts. I have a new tool for removing them but over the years they are so badly worn the tool is a loose fit. Finished up using stilsons to get them off. I reckon that with nearly every car fitted with alloys the theft problem has greatly diminished(i hope)
Just my thoughts but also lots of Disco 2 owners have done the same.

I've been thinking the same tbh. 4 of the 5 locking nuts (Inc spare) are very rusted so thinking of replacing them with a new set set of std nuts

The only one I have a locking nut on is the spare as it's much easier to make off with than the road wheels.
