Just got home in my S3 (in the dark) and found that I couldn't turn my lights off. She's an ex army 24V series 3. The round light switch includes H.S.T, Convoy, etc. It doesn't matter which position I put the switch the lights won't turn off.

The main headlights turn off in all positions except when they should be on, which is good, but in other positions of the switch the rear and front sidelights and the front and rear left indicator stay on. The indicator doesn't flash.

Does anybody know what the problem might be please?

I have the same 24v FFR. Don't know what your problem is exactly, however, I bypassed the IR Relay and just use the 6 way switch for standard parking and main lights. Just two positions used in the switch.

Hi layfin

Thanks for your response.

I usually find that anything to do with lights is an earthing issue! Seems odd that indicators on one side don't flash (but also won't turn off). We had some snow earlier today so maybe water has got in there somewhere. I'll have to get the switch off tomorrow in the daylight. I had to disconnect the battery to make the lights go out tonight!

had similar problems on my Bedford. water had got into the 6 way switch. it is not hard to strip and clean the switch the biggest problem is removing the knob there is a small button to press in on the knob that rusts up soak everything in wd40 or similar . take bottom off of the switch slowly and keeping slight pressure on to keep all springs in place. then clean and polish all brass connections inside. new switches are available at well over £120.

I had a similar problem with mine, as indicators affected probably the relay left hand side of light switch, or as above the IR relay. I changed both of them and it worked!
