Freelander 1 Dash board and lights not turning of when key is out

Hey guys, im new here but i got a problem with my 2001 frelander 1 1.8, when i turn of the car and turn of the lights the dash board and and position lights are still eluminating, it does not happen everytime i turn it off but randomly and when i fiddle with the key and the light switch for a while it turns off.
I was thinking the light switch is worn out or some condensation in somewhere.

The ignition switch is known to suffer from electrical gremlins. It's easily replaced.

I just found the problem. There is a relay inside the steering column shroud that does not click all the time. So when i tap it it clicks and the lights go off, thanks for all the help btw.

No relay to my knowledge. More likely the switch sticking and clicking when it finally releases.
