Hi All here is my next problem :) I have a roof bar with 4 spots on it, the problem is whne i put the spots on they bleed so much light on to the screen and dash that i lose vision rather than gaining it. I have tried putting some insulation tape accros the bottom but no real joy has anyone else had this problem ? and what solutions did you arrive at ? and before anyone says the lights are at their highest elevation :)

Don't awitch them on? Take them off and chuck them in a skip? Or maybe move the bar back a bit so the roof casts a shadow on the bonnet? Or rig up some sort of deflector thing? Actualy I think my second idea was the best they're a proper fashion victim accesory.

i know what you mean about the fashion accesory but they were already fitted and the paint work will scatch if i remove them :)

My dads had the same thing with his disco. He's taken them off now. Put two KC's on the front, that all the light you will ever need.
Mudynaty.

i know a lot of people paint their bonnet matt black to stop the rooflights reflecting, might not help in your case though. also have you thought about cutting some black plastic strips about an inch/ inch and a half wide by about half the circumference of the lights and attaching them to the botton of each spot? should be subtle but effective.

good call off to find some plastic strips :)

Depending on the diameter of your lamps, you could cut up some plastic pipe to make upside-down visors, like they fit to classic cars, only at the bottom of the lamp instead of the top.

I fitted some strips i made out of 1.5mm black polyprop (i think?) protruding about 1" from the front of the lense, that stops the light hitting the screen and dash - which i found was 90% of the problem...

As to those saying they're just a fashion accessory, try mounting any other type of light to be able to see what the front wheels are doing at night...

here is my solution 2 hours in the workshop and sorted :)
