Lights not working

Hi all, I've just noticed my main beam is not working, side lights work, as does full beam and spots.

I'm assuming that this will be a fault with the stalk, am I correct?

If it is, will any replacement stalk do? I have the 04 facelift model, did it change at all or will any Freelander 1 stalk do.

hi si,if i were you i would give the moving parts on the stalk a spray of electrical cleaner,then maybe check fuses and electrical connections or the bulbs just to be sure.tim

Thanks for the reply Tim, I thought of that but the bit that controls the lights is the twisty end bit and I can't get to the moving parts of that. Also I can't find out which or where the fuse is for the main beam, everything else seems fine, so I didn't think it could be a fuse.

have you checked your bulbs, if you have hit a pothole or speed bump a bit quick both elements will stretch when hot, and break as they cool, my son regularly replaced bulbs due to the vicious speed bumps at his old college.

Thanks freelance, a pal said that this afternoon, I didn't think it likely that both bulbs had gone at the same time buy ill check them on the morning.

I am not certain if the main beam has a separate relay but check this out before condemning the stalk.
