prob been asked a million times but as far as lift kits go i hear there is a body lift and a suspension lift???? or is it just a case of larger springs and new shocks? also how bigger profile and width tyres can i get on her on the 7j 16" disco wheels? and also without offecting the arch clearence until i can afford the arch kits?
cheers!
craig.

Hi Craig
I've just changed my springs and shocks to h/duty version on my 1995 disco and put 245/75/16 cooper stt they fitted without any body mods, only mod was to adjust steering stops to stop them rubbing on full lock.Great tyres for off road

just lifted my 97 by 1.5 inches and fitted 245/75 bfg a/t.

Looks and drives really good with no problems rubbing etc.

so i just need a case of spring and shocks then, am after the 3"lift, how much we looking at about 250 quid?
also am after some big wheels and tyres, heard of grizzley claws by any chance? tread depth an pattern is exelent from what i can see, think colway have started making them. i can get them brand new for 60 quid a shot.

3" lift ..... £250 ..... I nearly shat meself laughing just then.

You'll Need:
+3" springs (uprated if you have underbody protection + an additional uprate on the front if you're planning on fitting a winch+bumper)
Extended shocks
Extended brakelines
castor corrected radius rms
castor corrected trailing arms
Extended bump stops

Theres a good chance that you'll need a double cardon front prop shaft to eliminate the vibrations caused by the increased angles introduced to the drive train, you may need to get an open yoke rear prop too ( I got away without this.

Then you'll realise how silly the motor looks on standard tyres so factor in about £400 for a set of decent tyres.

£250 ?????? make that the wrong side of £1k and you'll be about right.

i have half them bits though, am just talking aboutt he springs and shocks. what manafacturer do i seek? and does this need all this work for a 2" lift aswell?

just my mate wants the 2" lift you see i just wanna go bigger as a lad in liverpool here has one and its smart as fook
