leds

i have found a nice bumper on ebay.it has led indicators in it.i want to turn them in strobs to go with becon.to move wide loads.i have fitted leds before you change the pulse by touching live or earth.i presume these are fitted with a circult for this role.can i get a seperate box to do this or is it not worth thinking about?

your a bit unclear: when you say strobs to go with your becons are you talking about indicator lights or like emergency lights?

Also: change the pulse by touching live or earth...when driving LEDs, especially for strobe effects, that can mean 2 things.

either way you can't drive LED off your indicator falsher unit, they don't draw enough current for the flasher unit to work properly.

Instead you need a 555 timer circuit or other flasher circuit to drive them. These can be bought: LED flasher unit or you can build your own, depends how familiar you are with electronics.
