I want to change the bulbs in my Defender 90 dash to LED's.

I have a 2002 TD5 Hardtop.

Changing the bulbs in the speedometer is very tricky can anyone please, advise me on what tool I can use to change the bulbs?

Cheers

Some persons use a pair of tweezers. I found a pair of thin, narrow scissors worked perfectly for me. The blades fit into the notches on bulb holders and the length of the scissors along with the availability of a handle made it a breeze to twist the holders out of place and to remove each bulb.

I have just done this, last night. I used a 1/4 drive socket to undo them, then stripped the light holder down and replaced the normal bulb with an LED the same as I had just fitted into all the other gauges and heater control lights. I will get the socket size this morning for you, but I think it was 11/32 Halfords 1/4 drive, I say Halfords because I have another 11/32 that didn’t fit, but will confirm later.

Yes it is 11/32. The one that fit was Hex, the one that didn’t was Bihex.
