Worked on several cars recently that have the exhaust manifold heat shields left off. None of them reports any trouble with this. Has anyone done this ?? I can understand why its being done as its blooming difficult to get them off and difficult to get them back on, the majority that I see have bodged bolts etc. And a car in now I have to hellicoil two bolt holes in the head as some emptyhead plonker has rammed metric (and too short) bolts in, obviously having lost the two aukward ones, stripping the threads (if only I could get my hands round his neck!)
Would some exhaust wrap be just as good or not necessary??

prehaps new advice in the gaylander section on removeing them to gain economy :D

nah, they wont understand. gaylanders are crap end of! unless of course you like oversized scholl run cars! with the ability to go on slightly damp but flat grass!:D:D:D:D:D

I run tubular manifolds, cant fit heat shields. 15000 miles no problems

i got tubular manifolds, well round ish!!! is there another type?:doh::doh:
