I'm off on holiday next week for a fortnight and first time im leaving the Vogue. Heard loads of stories about battery drain etc, mines had the mod done to prevent it happening but knowing RR's it could still happen I guess.

Any other things to do to reduce the chance?

Thanks in advance

If it's being left in a garage with power, get a battery conditioner. It keeps the battery topped up, without overcharging it. Halfords have them for a few quid.

:)

If you get a solar panel, check that the cigarette lighter socket is live with the ignition off or you will be wasting your time. Safer to connect direct to the battery.

The fag socket is dead with ign off, just disconnect the battery. When you reconnect it,fire up the engine and turn the steering from lock to lock.

As eightinavee says, cig lighter is dead with ignition off as it is on all modern cars. I reckon it's to stop you plugging in an electric cool box or such like, forgeting it and flattening your battery.

the one in the centre cubby box is always live as is the one in the rear load space.

my cigar socket is LIVE when keys out off ignition and doors locked .....and has always been live

You should be fine, I've left mine for longer than that a few times and had no issues. Worse case, you come back and ask someone for a jump then drive it around for a bit to recharge.

I've got an 03 4.4 in at the mo for gearbox problems,if I can be bothered I'll check to see if the fag lighter is live with the key out - such is my level of interest in the overweight, poorly built pile of poo.
