Can somone help please,
18cc freelander on a 05 plate, have put a new master/slave assembly on but the cluch pedal is solid, a wee bit look around and it seems that the leaver that the slave gose on to is siezed, so with the aid of a heavy hammer and a can off wd40 i have got it to move about an inch, how far dose it travel normaly and should it be free enough to move by hand and how far should i go with the hammer before i admit defeat and send it to a garage.

had this problem with my 1.8 freelander i ended up having to remove the gearbox as its the pivot pin inside the bell housing that was seazed solid i think the clutch arm sould move about 50mm atleast:(

Cheers for the reply,
managed to get it sorted with a heavy hammer :violent: and a can off wd40 and a lot off swearing, boy was she tight, a good spray and hammer then leave it for a hour to soak in, done this routine about 6 or 7 times, now its as good as new, so will drop some lube down there every month.
As a mater of intrest, when i was looking on the internet for a solution i came across a page for rover mg that had the same problem, that was cured by an upgraded clutch arm that had a grease nipple in the end off it, why the hell did landrover not do that...:(

Cheers

That's the uprated after market lever for the MG TF and Lotus Elise!! Would have been a good plan for LR to do it but most levers stiffen up long after the warranty ran out ;)
It's possible to do to the LR lever if you have assess to the tools??
