Leaky PTO.

Evening all.

I have developed a leak out of the PTO unit where the shaft connects, Is it a seal or bearing that has possibly gone? its not leaking too much, enough to leave a small damp patch overnight.

Also does it use the same oil as what is in the transfer box, ie share the same sump?

Could be the seal, could be the bearing has worn putting excess strain on the seal - probably best to do them both unless the bearing look good.

Same oil yes.
