Hi all
wonder if anyone can help with this question.
on my discovery 1 tdi I have a leak where the prop goes into the diff unit, its getting worse and I want to taclke it soon. the seal is cheap enough but how do i go about fitting it ? can i get access just by taking off the propshaft or do i need to take the diff off from the axle (please say no) the haynes manual is no help whatsoever not even a decent diagram.
anyone tackled this please let me know. thanks
Mark

ps: you probably will have seen this site but you could do worse than check out
www.paddockspares.com they have some good prices on all manner of parts
I saved a good few quid buying my brake discs and pads from them a while back. (if this is the wrong place for recommending web sites then can some one point me in the right direction . cheers)

hi mark,
you can change the diff seal but i would advise you to buy a diff flange kit. it cost me about £35. its quite a common problem. it is also very easy to do yourself. somewhere on this forum is a step by step picture guide on how to do it. hope this helps.
