Leaking Diesel

Occasionally, not always, Diesel leaks from the 110 td5. Anybody else experience this?

Some chavvie dipping the tank at night ?

Is it when you fill it right up

Might be a punctured tank

Yes I certainly have. In my case it was coming out round the seal where the pump goes into the tank. Because this is in a recess on defenders it is below the fuel line when the tank is full. It turned out that the lock ring wasn't on properly and the sealing rubber was all creased up. A new seal, lock ring and tube of gasket sealant sorted me out.

Is this the sort of thing you mean?

Mine leaked from the filler breather pipe!

It was a bugger to find and took about 5 minutes to fix!

Try looking at the return pipes from the injectors and the line back to the tank.

The fitting on No 4 is a push fit on mine and it took forever to fing the leak!

One small clip later it was all fixed.
